It ain’t what they call you, it’s what you answer to ✍🏼

A few months ago I finished Michelle Obama's book, Becoming. 

It was beautiful, insightful and moving on so many levels.

This particular quote resonated with me: "It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to."

I am someone so easily influenced by others and someone who also wants others to like me. It's been a big challenge for me to become my own person, and not let what anyone else says or thinks about me affect the way I am. 

It can be easy to let people's opinions bring you down, but you need to focus on what you can control—and that, my friends, is the person you want to be and the person you want to respond as.

Show up as yourself, and nobody else. Don't let other people's perspectives weigh you down or take you down a path that isn't meant for you.
